TPView memory disclosure via JPEG2000 parser over-read
Published May 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in VMware Workstation 16.x and Horizon Client for Windows 5.x allows attackers to disclose TPView process memory. The Cortado ThinPrint JPEG2000 parser reads beyond a buffer boundary while TPView processes virtual-printing data. Exploitation requires virtual printing; it is disabled by default in Workstation and enabled by default in Horizon Client for Windows, and no write or service-interruption impact is reported.
