Authenticated remote execution via Startup Configuration injection
Published Feb 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
vSphere Replication 8.3.x before 8.3.1.2, 8.2.x before 8.2.1.1, 8.1.x before 8.1.2.3 and 6.5.x before 6.5.1.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands. The Startup Configuration page passes attacker-controlled input into command execution without adequate neutralization. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the underlying appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
