CVE-2021-21953Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Privilege escalation via partially authenticated cloud packets

Published Dec 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Authentication bypass in Anker Innovations eufy HomeBase 2 2.1.6.9h allows man-in-the-middle attackers to gain privileges. The home_security binary's process_msg() encrypts only the hub serial number in UDP cloud packets, leaving the opcode, body, length, and CRC editable. An on-path attacker between the hub and cloud service rewrites authenticated packets to issue arbitrary Pushpkt commands, including stream, reboot, and configuration operations.
