CVE-2021-21892Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked FsUnmount path

Published Dec 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stack overflow in Lantronix PremierWave 2050 8.9.0.0R4 Web Manager allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The FsUnmount AJAX handler in ltrx_evo passes the user-controlled path parameter to sprintf with a fixed 1,032-byte stack destination and no validation. A valid Web Manager account with no special permissions is sufficient; successful overflow corrupts the stack frame and controls the program counter.
