Authenticated file disclosure via FsMove traversal
Published Dec 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Directory traversal in Lantronix PremierWave 2050 8.9.0.0R4 allows remote authenticated users to disclose or overwrite files via Web Manager FsMove requests. The FsMove handler fails to sanitize attacker-controlled cwd and dst parameters before composing filesystem paths, allowing traversal outside /ltrx_user/ and arbitrary file moves. Access requires an authenticated account with the filesystem privilege; crafted requests can read sensitive files such as /etc/shadow or overwrite files, affecting confidentiality and integrity.
