Root command execution via unsanitized Ping host

OS command injection in Lantronix PremierWave 2050 8.9.0.0R4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The Web Manager Ping handler interpolates the unsanitized host HTTP parameter into an ndisc6 shell command through sprintf and runs it as root. Any authenticated low-privilege Web Manager account can escape the command when host begins with fe80: and omits a percent sign, gaining root command execution.
