CVE-2021-21854Network attack vector

Memory corruption via unchecked integer addition

Published Aug 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Integer overflow in GPAC Advanced Content library 1.0.1 allows remote attackers to cause memory corruption via crafted MPEG-4 input. The rtp decoder adds attacker-controlled MPEG-4 values without overflow checks, producing a heap-based buffer overflow. User interaction is required because an attacker must convince someone to open the video; the result is process memory corruption and possible service interruption.
