CVE-2021-21816Public exploitNetwork attack vector

System log disclosure via unauthenticated export endpoint

Published Jul 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in the D-Link DIR-3040 1.13B03 Syslog feature allows remote attackers to read the device system log over HTTP. The web server leaves the exported log at /messages without an authentication check, allowing a direct HTTPS GET to return interfaces, process lists, and errors. The endpoint becomes exposed only after an authenticated user exports the log during the current device power cycle.
