CVE-2021-21795Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Host application crash via undersized ICC curve allocation

Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in Accusoft ImageGear 19.9 allows attackers to crash a host application by supplying a crafted PSD file. read_icc_icCurve_data left-shifts an attacker-controlled curve count to size an allocation without checking integer wraparound, then writes that many doubles. The host application must load the file with the affected library; the out-of-bounds bytes originate in attacker-controlled file data.
