Memory corruption via unchecked JPG channel size
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Accusoft ImageGear 19.8 allows attackers to corrupt memory by supplying a malformed JPG file. The handle_color_channel_with_high_precision function writes beyond its buffer because JPG SOF channel data is processed without a required size check. Reachability requires an integrating application to load the attacker-supplied image, after which the hosting process's memory is corrupted.
