CVE-2021-21692Network attack vector

Arbitrary controller file relocation via incomplete authorization

Published Nov 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Jenkins 2.318 and earlier and LTS 2.303.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to move controller files. The FilePath#renameTo and FilePath#moveAllChildrenTo operations authorize a source path with only read permission and omit the required delete-permission check. Exploitation requires control of an agent process; successful calls can rename or relocate arbitrary files on the controller filesystem.
