Unauthorized test emails via unchecked HTTP endpoint
Published Jun 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Jenkins Requests Plugin 2.2.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to send test emails to any address. The plugin exposes a test-email HTTP endpoint without checking Overall/Administer permission; the public advisory does not identify the handler or disclose a patch diff. Overall/Read access and working outbound mail configuration are required, and the bounded effect is unauthorized email delivery rather than Jenkins data access or code execution.
