Stored XSS via unescaped image portlet URLs
Published May 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Dashboard View Plugin 2.15 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via image URLs. The Image Dashboard Portlet stores a configured URL and renders it without escaping or rejecting unsafe values, allowing browser interpretation as active content. View/Configure permission is required to plant the URL, and execution occurs when another user opens the affected dashboard view.
