Local privilege escalation
Published Aug 16, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
OS command injection in Dell Technologies PowerScale OneFS 8.2.x through 9.2.1.x allows local users to escalate privileges. Dell has not disclosed the affected command-building locus or how attacker-controlled input reaches an operating-system command. The issue is reachable only on SmartLock WORM compliance-mode clusters by accounts holding ISI_PRIV_LOGIN_SSH or ISI_PRIV_LOGIN_CONSOLE, and successful exploitation defeats compliance protections through elevated privileges.
