CVE-2021-21596Public exploit

Unauthenticated code execution via exposed Redis routing

Published Aug 9, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Remote code execution in Dell OpenManage Enterprise 3.4 through 3.6.1 allows remote attackers on the same subnet to gain container shells. Enabled IP forwarding and incorrect firewall rules expose internal Redis, whose unauthenticated replication loads attacker code before a pivot into trust-authenticated PostgreSQL. Attackers must share the target subnet without an intervening gateway; the chain grants database access, administrator authentication bypass, and code execution in Redis and PostgreSQL containers.
