CVE-2021-21559

Traffic interception and tampering via certificate misvalidation

Published Jun 8, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Improper certificate validation in Dell EMC NetWorker Management Console before 19.4.0.2 allows attackers to intercept and alter traffic. The console client inadequately validates the application server's TLS certificate, enabling an on-path system to impersonate that server. Exploitation requires the attacker to share the client's network collision domain and a user to initiate the console connection; the attacker can read and tamper with that session's traffic.
