CVE-2021-21546

Credential disclosure via plaintext server logging

Published Jul 29, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Information exposure in Dell Technologies NetWorker 18.x, 19.x before 19.3.0.4, and 19.4.0.0 allows local users to read log credentials. The server writes credentials in plaintext to log files readable by a low-privileged local account; Dell has not disclosed the responsible logging locus. Access requires a local low-privileged account on the NetWorker server, and the published evidence establishes credential disclosure without identifying which credentials are exposed.
