CVE-2021-21542Network attack vector

Stored XSS via certificate field

Published Apr 30, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Dell EMC iDRAC9 before 4.40.10.00 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in victim browsers. Certificate-generation fields store submitted HTML or JavaScript without adequate output neutralization, so the payload runs when another management user views the generated certificate data. High-privilege access is required to submit the certificate data and a victim must open the affected page; the documented impact is browser-context script execution with limited confidentiality and integrity effects, not service shutdown.
