Configuration overwrite via oversized stack-buffer payload
Published Apr 30, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Stack-based overflow in Dell EMC iDRAC9 before 4.40.00.00 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite configuration data. Dell states that an arbitrarily large injected payload overflows a stack buffer but does not identify the affected endpoint, parameter, or function. Low-privileged iDRAC credentials and network reachability are required; Dell reports configuration overwrite without data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
