Privilege escalation via web-interface TOCTOU race
Published Apr 30, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
A TOCTOU race in Dell Technologies iDRAC9 before 4.40.00.00 allows remote authenticated users to gain elevated privileges. Dell has not disclosed the affected web-interface operation or the resource whose validation and use are separated by the race. Exploitation requires low-privileged iDRAC access and concurrent web-interface activity by a higher-privileged user; success crosses the configured iDRAC privilege boundary.
