Application crash via malformed GIF parsing
Published Mar 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer allows remote attackers to crash the application with a crafted GIF file. The GIF parser processes malformed file data without sufficient validation, causing the viewer to terminate instead of rejecting the file. Exploitation requires a user to open an untrusted GIF, and service remains unavailable only until the application is restarted.
