Administrative credential disclosure via unlimited password guesses
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper account lockout in SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management allows remote attackers to recover administrator passwords. The MDM Server leaves administrative accounts unlocked after repeated failed connection attempts, allowing password guesses to continue without an account-locking limit. Access to the MDM Server subnet and insufficient administrative-account hardening are required; successful guessing exposes sensitive data and grants MDM administrative privileges.
