Administrative privilege gain via missing authorization check
Published Mar 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authorization bypass in MigrationService in SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java 7.10 through 7.50 allows attackers to access configuration objects. MigrationService processes requests for protected configuration objects without performing the required authorization check, including for objects that assign administrative privileges. Exploitation requires adjacent-network reachability but no credentials or user interaction, and administrative access enables attackers to read or alter application data and interrupt service operation.
