Unauthenticated file disclosure via unchecked traversal sequences
Published Feb 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management Server 710 and 710.750 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files. Path validation passes parent-directory traversal sequences from user-supplied path data to file APIs instead of rejecting or constraining them. No authentication or user interaction is required, but SAP states that exploitation occurs only under specific, undisclosed circumstances; exposure is limited to file confidentiality.
