Unauthorized ABAP report execution via unchecked SUBMIT
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and ABAP Platform allows remote authenticated users to execute existing ABAP reports via RFC. SRM_RFC_SUBMIT_REPORT accepts an untrusted REPORTNAME, forms a dynamic program name, and passes it to SUBMIT without an authorization check. Affected SAP_BASIS releases are 700, 702, 710, 711, 730, 731, 740, 750, 751, 752, 753, 754, and 755; execution is limited to existing reports but exceeds the caller's authorizations.
