Application crash via malformed PCX file parsing
Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows context-dependent attackers to crash it via a crafted PCX file. The PCX parser insufficiently validates file contents before processing them, causing the Viewer process to terminate. Exploitation requires a user to open an attacker-supplied file, and service remains unavailable until the application is restarted.
