CVE-2021-21460

Code execution via DIB heap buffer overflow

Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DIB file. The DIB parser copies user-supplied data into a heap buffer without first validating that its declared length fits the destination. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs in the current process and the application can crash.
