Application crash via malformed GIF parsing
Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9 allows attackers to crash the application via a manipulated GIF file. The GIF parser does not adequately validate user-supplied image data before processing it, producing a memory-corruption condition when the crafted file is loaded. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit attacker-controlled content, and the viewer remains unavailable until the user restarts it.
