Application crash via malformed SGI file parsing
Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows remote attackers to crash it through a crafted SGI file. The SGI parser inadequately validates user-supplied data before memory operations, producing memory corruption when the malformed image is decoded. A user must open the untrusted file; SAP reports temporary unavailability until restart, while ZDI reports code execution in the Viewer process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
