Application crash via malformed IFF parsing
Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Memory corruption in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows remote attackers to crash the application through a crafted IFF file. The IFF parser fails to validate user-supplied file data before processing it, creating a memory-corruption condition. Opening the file is required; SAP reports a recoverable crash, while ZDI reports code execution in the current process.
