Authenticated command execution via shell metacharacter injection
Published Apr 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in DEMON1A Discord-Recon 0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through Discord messages. The .dirsearch and .arjun handlers append unvalidated arguments to shell commands, so separators such as && introduce an additional command. Access to the bot's Discord server is required, and injected commands run with the bot process's permissions on its Linux host.
