Information disclosure via inherited View permissions
Published Mar 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Zope Foundation Products.GenericSetup before 2.1.1 allows remote attackers to read setup logs and snapshots. The writeDataFile and _ensureSnapshotsFolder methods create log, snapshot, and folder objects without replacing inherited View permissions. Anonymous HTTP access is sufficient when the Generic Setup Tool exists in a site, exposing stored configuration artifacts without permitting modification or service interruption.
