Command execution via array parameters bypassing sanitation
Published Feb 16, 2021 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
OS command injection in Sebastian Hildebrandt systeminformation before 5.3.1 allows local users to execute commands through array parameters. The services and processLoad paths treat array-valued arguments as command text after string-only sanitation, allowing shell metacharacters to reach OS command construction. Reachability requires a host application to pass attacker-controlled arrays into an affected API; commands run with the Node.js process privileges.
