CVE-2021-21286Network attack vector

Administrator takeover via exposed credential hashes

Published Feb 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect authorization in WWBN AVideo before 10.2 allows remote authenticated users to obtain administrator control over the site. User-query responses expose the pass and recoverPass hashes instead of removing these credential fields, enabling an ordinary account to assume administrative control. A valid ordinary user account and network access to the self-hosted web application are required; the documented impact is unauthorized administrative control, not service interruption.
