Authenticated file disclosure via unchecked base path
Published Jan 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Spring Boot Actuator LogView before 0.2.13 allows remote authenticated users to read files outside the log directory. The LogViewEndpoint.view method validates filename but resolves the unchecked base request parameter before opening the requested file. Access requires the Actuator log-view HTTP endpoint and its authentication, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the application process.
