CVE-2021-21229Network attack vector

Domain spoofing via incorrect download origin display

Published Apr 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect download security UI in Google Chrome for Android before 90.0.4430.93 allows remote attackers to spoof a domain via crafted HTML. The Android download home UI displays the initiating tab URL instead of the downloaded file's actual URL, misattributing the file's origin. A user must open attacker-controlled HTML and interact with the download, after which the false origin can make untrusted content appear to come from another domain.
