Memory disclosure via WebUI Settings out-of-bounds read
Published Jan 2, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Google Chrome before 89.0.4389.72 allows remote attackers to read memory through a crafted HTML page. The ImportData path in chrome://settings reads beyond its intended buffer, but Google has not published the malformed input or faulty bounds operation. A user must open attacker-controlled HTML, and the documented consequences are limited to unintended memory disclosure or a browser crash.
