Heap corruption via V8 use-after-free
Published Apr 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in V8 in Google Chrome before 89.0.4389.114 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via crafted HTML. Google identifies the V8 JavaScript engine but has not disclosed the freed object or the code path that dereferences it. A user must load attacker-controlled HTML; Google has not documented a sandbox escape or a consequence more specific than heap corruption.
