CVE-2021-21176Network attack vector

Omnibox spoofing via flawed fullscreen handling

Published Mar 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect fullscreen handling in Google Chrome before 89.0.4389.72 allows remote attackers to spoof the Omnibox via crafted HTML. Google identifies full screen mode as the affected component but has not published the exact implementation error that permits page content to misrepresent the trusted URL bar. A victim must open the crafted page and enter fullscreen mode; the spoof can misrepresent the page's origin but does not directly read data or execute code.
