CVE-2021-21147

Omnibox spoofing via crafted HTML rendering

Published Feb 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Inappropriate implementation in Skia in Google Chrome before 88.0.4324.146 allows local users to spoof the Omnibox via crafted HTML. Google identifies Skia as the affected component, but the restricted issue record leaves the flawed rendering operation and input handling undisclosed. A local user must cause the crafted page to render; the documented consequence is a misleading URL-bar display, not code execution or data access.
