User-context code execution via crafted file parsing
Published Jun 28, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Adobe InDesign 16.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code as the current user through a crafted file. Its file parser writes beyond an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled file data; Adobe has not disclosed the exact parser or field. Opening the file is required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary code with the victim's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
