User-context code execution via path traversal
Published Feb 11, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Path traversal in Adobe Acrobat Reader 2020.013.20074 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted file. The disclosed records do not identify the path-processing component or explain how traversal escapes its intended directory. Exploitation requires the current user to open the malicious file, after which code runs with that user's privileges on Windows or macOS.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
