Restricted-resource access via lingering user sessions
Published Feb 11, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Insufficient session expiration in Magento Commerce and Open Source 2.4.1 and earlier allows attackers to access restricted resources. The user-session invalidation path leaves sessions usable after they should expire, but Adobe has not disclosed the responsible code path. A still-valid session is required; admin-console access is not, and the documented consequence is unauthorized access to restricted resources.
