CVE-2021-20826

Controller manipulation via exposed web credentials

Published Dec 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Unprotected credential transport in IDEC PLC software allows attackers to capture PLC web server credentials from network communications. The PLC-to-programming-software channel transmits web-server authentication information without sufficient protection. Attackers positioned to observe that communication can obtain full web-server access, manipulate PLC outputs, and suspend the controller.
