CVE-2021-20748

External-service API key disclosure via embedded credential

Published Jul 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in Retty App for Android before 4.8.13 and iOS before 4.11.14 allow attackers to obtain an external-service API key. The packaged application data embeds the static key, allowing extraction through offline analysis instead of protecting it outside the client. Access to a copy of an affected mobile app is required; JVN states that application users are not directly affected by the disclosure.
