Browser script execution via unescaped character conversion
Published May 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in PHP Factory MailForm01 2014-12-12 through 2018-07-27 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in a user's browser. In mail.php's full-width-to-half-width conversion function, mb_convert_kana() returns form input to the confirmation page without the h() HTML-escaping wrapper. Exploitation requires the nondefault hankaku conversion option to be enabled and a user to click an attacker-controlled link, after which the injected script runs in that user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
