SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated WebManager upload
Published Nov 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in NEC EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.3 and earlier for Windows allows remote attackers to upload files through WebManager. The clpwebmc.exe web server accepts attacker-supplied binary data through UploadFile.js without validating the upload, leading to code execution as SYSTEM. The WebManager service listens on TCP port 29003 by default, so network access to the unauthenticated endpoint is sufficient.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
