Unauthorized operations via undisclosed access-control failure

Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper access control in MG Co. DL8 firmware before 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to perform prohibited web-interface operations. JVN states that the interface accepts operations beyond the logged-in user's authorization, but neither JVN nor MG Co. identifies the request handler or failed check. Access to the product web interface and valid login credentials are required; the disclosed impact is unauthorized operations, not data disclosure or service interruption.
