Unauthenticated administrative takeover through legacy survey CGI
Published Jan 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Privilege chaining in acmailer 4.0.2 and earlier and acmailer DB 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain administrative access. The obsolete survey feature exposes five CGI files that permit authentication bypass, but the vendor has not disclosed how those files mishandle request input. No credentials or user interaction are required; exploitation exposes mailing lists, login credentials, and configuration data, and permits destruction of the CGI files.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
