Communication denial of service via crafted-packet null dereference
Published Jul 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC-F FX3U Ethernet modules 1.14 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt communications. The Ethernet interface block dereferences a null pointer while processing specially crafted network packets; no finer parsing locus is public. The interface is reachable without authentication, and successful exploitation halts product communications until system reset while PLC control continues.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
